PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION |
Kinos is muscular, but not bulky. He moves in a relaxed, loose-limbed
way. He is very much at home in his own skin… but prefers a tool belt.
He has slightly shaggy, brown hair, a neatly-trimmed mustache and
beard, plenty of freckles beneath a suntan, and his blue eyes crinkle
at the corners when he smiles. |

Kinos is the strong, silent type, given to saying little, and keeping
what he does say to the bare minimum – mainly because he’s afraid he
won’t always say something that will win him friends. He is
excruciatingly patient with his engineering projects (many of which
take Turns to complete), and excruciatingly impatient with people. He
has an innate sense of balance and structure that serves him well at
his craft – indeed, he thinks of bridge-building as an art, though he
ruefully acknowledges it’s not one that brings the ladies swooning at
his feet. He is a loner, but not lonely, a self-sufficient young man
who likes having control over his own life. |

| SHORT HISTORY |
Kinos is the first-born son in a family of smiths. His parents joke
about being glorified ditch diggers, but in actuality they are
something more like engineers. The advent of Offworlder technology
brought the family down to the Southern Continent to see what they
could learn. Kinos learned to love roads and bridges and external
structures in the Offworlder style (that is to say, with four standing
walls, rather than cut into the side of a cliff). His masterwork was a
suspension bridge across one of the chasms caused by the recent
cataclysms along the coast and took him four years to complete. |
