PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION |
G'red is handsome in a rugged way, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Standing about 6'4", he's pretty wiry though his shoulders are quite broad. His nose has been broken more than once, adding a little character to his face along side the deep laugh lines scoring his cheeks when he smiles, which is most of the time. Scars from threadscore are obvious in several places on his body, namely right thigh, left shoulder, and now across the right side of his abdomen. He has a tattoo on his left bicep, a bronze dragon flaming Thread. Most recently, Neoma convinced him to get both nipples pierced with steel rings. |

| PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION |
G'red is a cad. Always has been, always will be. He's charming and self-assured, which is attractive, but he's also a lech and an unstoppable flirt. He can't say no to a lady, be it in helping carry a heavy load or in matters involving more nefarious activities, which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
G'red has grown, of late, into more of a father figure than he ever felt he would be. His weyrlings become more and more like his children every day and he will do anything to keep them safe, including get in the way of Thread to give them time to recover. Hence, the scars.

| SHORT HISTORY |
Gared showed up at Southern Weyr when he was 10, malnourished, sporting a broken arm, and with a 5 year old sister on his back. His parents had been killed in a storm and only he and his little sister had survived.
(Linit was later Searched at Ista while she was visiting an uncle). The boy was intelligent and hard-working and was quickly adopted by the kitchen staff. One of the cooks, Ilsa, became his foster mother.
At age 13, Gared Impressed bronze Gyraneth and began his life as a dragonrider. Being a hormone ridden teenager was easy for him, considering there was no shortage of bed-partners in the weyr. This caused quite a stir with the Weyrlingmaster, who dished out so many disciplinary actions against the young man, they almost tried to "deport" him to Eastern. But he stuck it out and graduated at the top of his class.
G'red has always had the reputation as the weyr lech, though in reality he's a very good guy and simply hasn't found the right lady....yeah, right. Well, maybe he *has* found the right lady...er...ladies.
The father of six children (that he knows of) by five different women gives him a rather unique perspective on love. Elenor, his first born, was the result of his affair with an offworlder, Margaret Anderson, who died upon her return to the planet, leaving Elie alone at Omega. Danzyl, his second daughter, was believed to be the child of another rider until Lynze let it out that she was his. A son, Getid, born of Goldrider Kehti, now resides at High Reaches with his mother, who has taken up with another Bronzerider. His fourth child, Gabrinn, was born dead to his mother Sabrinn, who just recently became one of G'red's students after Impressing Brown Torieth. His fifth child, another son, is Esred, born of former greenrider Esmaya, who left the weyr after losing her dragon to a vicious sea predator.
G'red doesn't know what to do with these women. He loves all of them, in his own way, and has a serious yearning for a 'normal' life, where he could get married and have a gaggle of children following him around. But this will never happen, and so he can't quite figure out what it is he wants for himself.
Most recently, G'red has discovered that he has another child, this one much older. Edara, rider of green Loralith, showed up at Dawnsister's looking for her father and their reunion was interesting, to say the least. What he'll do with a teenager... |

Gyr is almost a copper color, like a new penny. He is average size for a bronze, though his wings are a little longer than normal, which can sometimes cause him to be a little clumsy. They seem to serve him quite well in mating flights, however, since he wins more than he loses.
Gyr has a sense of humor much like his riders and likes nothing more than to sun himself where female dragons can watch. |
